Veterinarians are the doctors who diagnose and treat animals. Veterinarians are responsible for the health of animals as well as working to enhance public health. They are responsible for the diagnosis, treatment, and study of medical disorders and diseases in pets, cattle, and other animals.
The goal of veterinary education is to equip veterinarians with the knowledge and abilities necessary to strengthen the bond between humans and animals by relieving them of pain and sickness. The job of a veterinarian is exceedingly difficult, especially given that animals are unable to convey their pain. He takes care of pet animals such as dogs, cats, and birds. He ensures the hygienic and safe production of milk, meat, eggs, and other animal products. As a result, Veterinary Science is a broad and fascinating field.
The Veterinarian’s Role In Human Safety
- Veterinarians have an important role in the diagnosis and treatment of various zoonotic diseases such as bird flu in poultry, swine flu, anthrax, tuberculosis, brucellosis in cows/buffaloes, and rabies in a dog, etc.
- Veterinarians identify infections that transmit through meat, milk, and eggs.
- A Veterinarian can also detect synthetic or contaminated milk by testing it in a lab.
- Veterinarians also contribute to environmental hygiene by lowering methane emissions from animals through the provision of high-quality roughages and a well-balanced diet.
